The SDGs are “Sustainable Development Goals” adopted in 2015 as universal goals in the world. TACT CO.,Ltd supports the principle of these goals and we are continuously addressing the SDGs.

TACT CO.,Ltd engages in the improvement of soil and recovery of tree vigor for over 30 years with the concept of “symbiosis with nature”. Under the principle of living with nature by incorporating plants in our daily life, we have been committed to the development of “products that protect the planet earth” over the years.

Our company operates business with the product called “Biogold” as its core, today. Originally, our corporate history started with environmental microbiology study with the aim of making contribution to society by “developing products using power of microorganism”.

After spending more than 10 years in study at the environmental microbiology laboratory, we discovered a microorganism that would later become the origin of Biogold.

To get the maximum benefits of the microorganism function, our unique fermentation technology was refined and relentless research was continued to create a product that enables plant roots and microorganisms in soil to derive each other’s strength. In 1986, an activator Biogold was finally created that would promote powerful growth of plants at the same time improve the soil environment.

●“Environment policy for product development” is defined for Biogold as a sustainable development goal to protect the environment.

●Sustainable development of product that can be returned to natural environment
We develop products under the policy of using resources that circulate on the globe as a main material without adding many other things or unnecessary things. In some cases, we may use the function of chemical component if it is deemed necessary for plants or microorganisms in soil, but we never select materials outside the realm of nature as a main material or use bacteria in such a way that would affect or collapse the ecological balance. We use effectively the power of microorganisms already existing in the garden soil, fowl droppings and our own fermentation technology to create rich soil and thus preserve the circulation and the balance in nature.

●Reducing environmental load of transportation
Procuring materials from or having a production base in overseas countries inflict a load on natural environment. Our company sets the following two rules strictly as part of the corporate environment policy.
・Procure materials mainly in Japan
・Use only production factories in Japan
We endeavor to reduce CO2 emission caused by transportation and alleviate the environmental load by way of ensuring that the whole process from procuring materials to production should be completed in Japan.

●Growing plants for longer time to prevent them from withering
Do you know that plants discharge CO2 when they wither? And CO2 is further discharged when withered plants are incinerated. If you continuously use Biogold fertilizer and/or activator, your garden soil will turn to soil like natural one in coppice in which rich and well-balanced microorganisms are actively working, so that any one can grow plants easily for longer time without letting them wither. Act of preventing plants from dying down is actually contributing to reduction of the environmental load.

●Soil that can be used repeatedly without being thrown away
Once used for growing plants, soil cannot usually be used again and it is disposed of. However, Biogold has a function to improve soil quality during it is used for raising plants and therefore the soil can be used for a number of times. Increasing the capacity of soil is also effective in reducing the amount of use of other materials. In conclusion, continuous use of Biogold fertilizer and activator will lead to the alleviation of the environmental load because, in our company’s point of view, soil is also one of the important resources on earth that may be exhausted.

●Connected richness of the ocean and land
Ocean richness and land richness are connected. That is, portion of nutrients on land flowing into the sea causes eutrophication in the sea, which leads to overgrowth of plankton, resulting in that the marine ecosystem will become off-balanced. It is said that chemical fertilizers dissolve easily in water and a large portion of their nutrients in soil often overflows, causing environmental pollution. Even if you use organic fertilizers, they often cause excessive nutrients in soil and may result in environmental pollution when they are used in excessive amount or in soil that has not been improved and with low fertilizer retention capacity. However, using Biogold while improving soil to increase its capacity to retain fertilizers will help prevent excessive nutrients from overflowing. It also helps reduce the amount of fertilizers you need to use, which contributes to reducing the risk of causing ocean pollution.
